1. The underlying rocks are Inferior Oolite of the Jurassic period. 2. Inferior oolite exposed below Crickley Hillfort on the edge of the Cotswold escarpment.3. The strata are Lower Inferior Oolite which is overlain with Upper Trigonia Grit. 4. Extensive exposures through much of the Inferior Oolite . 5. There are no Middle Inferior Oolite strata present. 6. Near the top of these cliffs is a layer of Inferior Oolite , which contains large ammonites. 7. The stone is an Inferior Oolite of the Garantiana Beds, dating back to the Middle Jurassic. 8. The "'Northampton Sand Formation "'is a Middle Jurassic geological Inferior Oolite Group. 9. The Northampton Sand Formation constitutes the lowest part of the Inferior Oolite Series and lies on the upper Lias clay. 10. It shows rocks lying stratigraphically below the Middle and Upper Inferior Oolite Limestones seen at Dundry Main Road South Quarry.
